Professional Development (ProDev) Seminars promote ongoing professional learning and is mandatory for Architect Members to remain in good standing with the AIA. A range of seminar topics are offered each year and encourage the architect to stay current with their particular field of practice, master new knowledge and skills, plan for the future, and responsibly aid the public that seeks their professional services.

YOUNG ARCHITECT’S FORUM NEW BEGINNINGS [$500 per seminar]
The Young Architects Forum (YAF) New Beginnings is a panel discussion geared specifically to newly licensed architects, associates and architect + design students. These panel discussions are created to focus on issues of particular relevance to this future generation of architects. New Beginnings panels also allow for open and informal dialogues between established professionals and those just beginning their careers.

ARE SEMINARS [$5000 for a year-long ARE Series]
Each year, the AIA/LA offers a series of seminars to help candidates prepare for the licensing exam given by the California Architects Board. One seminar is dedicated to each of the 9 sections of the ARE and there are 3 annual California Supplemental Oral Exam Prep Classes. Seminars are led by AIA members who bring their years of knowledge and experience to an informative review session that helps candidates to become familiar with the basic material covered in each section of the exam.
