Description
Architect to serve as construction administrator for a research laboratory/renovation project for a historic building.
The project is located in the greater Los Angeles area.
The Architect will work under the supervision of the Principals and have responsibility for conducting the daily tasks of construction administration.
This is a full-time, temporary position for 12 months, to start in December, 2009.
salary: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience in an architectural firm
Licensed in California
Experience in design of research laboratories
Experience and interest in renovation of historic buildings
Experience in running the daily operation of a major architectural project through the entire phase of construction.
Experience in daily use of a web-based, project management software system
Experience in all aspects of construction administration, including working as a liaison to the design architect, developing design solutions and issuing bulletins, responding to contractor requests, review of submittals and payment requests, attending weekly project meetings , making weekly site visits and reporting, and executing punch lists.
Experience with successfully achieving LEED certification.
Ability to coordinate complex building system requirements in response to contractor requests and on-site conditions.
Ability to work as a team player in a small architectural office
Ability to participate effectively in client and user group meetings
