The Gala

On Thursday, October 30, 2003, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and the surrounding Music Center provided a dramatic backdrop for one of southern California's most prestigious architectural awards presentations: the 2003 AIA/Los Angeles Design Awards Gala.

Guests at the black-tie affair began the evening with a guided preview of the spectacular new Disney Concert Hall by Frank Gehry, FAIA, accompanied by members of the Building Team.

Back across the street at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, guests and honorees mingled at a networking reception, followed by the awards ceremony. Immediately after the awards program, guests enjoyed a gourmet dinner catered by Patina.

This year's Gala was an unforgettable evening that marks the continuing renaissance of downtown Los Angeles.
