Jury Comments:

The renovation of a house built by Carl Maston for his family in 1962. The jury was unanimous on the lightness of touch used to bring this house back to life. Wendell Burnette said it was clear that the architects knew the history of the house and were very serious about its restoration. Michael Wilford thought of the number of such houses in Los Angeles and reflected on the great opportunities that exist for this kind of work.
